restaurant friendsI am truly amazed that more people do not know about this site and the promotions you can obtain.

In a nut-shell, Restaurant.com is a site where you can search for local places to eat and pre-purchase gift cards to eat there at low prices. I have been able to eat at some places in Chicago lately for a few dollars when the bill should be $50-60.

Now, before you go to this site, keep in mind that each establishment has their own policy for how and when you can use their gift cards. All the places I have encountered on the site so far have been good places to go for food. Personally, I do not often go to chain type restaurants, so having a cheap ability to try different ethnic foods and support local places is great. Remember, alcohol or any other beverage is the most profitable item at restaurants (in the majority of the cases) and these are never covered with these cards.

Restaurant.com has a new 80% off code CHEF available, which is valid through Sep 30, 2009. The $25 gift certificates are normally $10 or $15 (depending on restaurant), but are $2 or $3 with the code. They also sell $10 certificates for select restaurants for $4, making them 80 cents each with the code.

I will update with another code for October when its available. Give them a try for some cheap eats!
