Friday Lookout…
filed in My Investments on Feb.13, 2009
Hey everyone, its midday Friday and I failed to post earlier due to a long Thursday and subsequent night…I apologize for the minor lapse but have compiled a few items that can be used towards the trades this afternoon to hopefully pull out a positive end to the week.
Personally, I have not made many trades except for a hold I am in with (BAC). The CFO did just come out and say the company is financial stable, this has pulled the stock price up from its low of the day, lets see if that forms the bottom on the afternoon upswing. Link Here.
The sector to not be in today is the financials. Today its the reason the markets are in the red and perhaps some might feel these are buying opportunities, but unless you have a habit of high risk investments, this will not be for the faint of heart. Some banks have halted foreclosures which from a consumer standpoint is good, but on the other hand, and I hate to say this, is that is a person cannot afford to make payments on the home, and the bank cannot turn around and sell that house (at a loss) and take in some sort of income, how will money flow? Link Here.
Here is an interesting video that was on Bloomberg earlier today, one analyst goes to say that only 8% of all the stocks on the market would be worth buying:
(SBX) has just entered into the instant coffee world. I am not sure how die hard coffee fans will accept this as we all know that there is major taste differences with instant and fresh ground. This will boost revenues as a new market segment will be tapped into. Investing opportunity? Link Here.
Anyone looking into a play, Jim Cramer just got into a long term play on (CAT) which has been heavily beaten down. This could be a good buy in time on the fact that the stimulus that is coming out talks about jobs in construction and we all know that (CAT) has almost full control of all equipment. Of course, this is a long term play with slow growth and a 5% div which is good while it lasts.
Well that is all for today to help steer some direction in these dark markets. Hopefully you can fish out a buy and make some money!
Happy Investing!
