I love this day. Its a day when you can look back at all the accomplishments you have made, the statements you can make and beliefs you can follow without the fear of being singled out. Being an American has different meanings to all and this is what makes this country wonderful. Everyone comes to America with dreams and through hard work, those dreams can come true.

We have witness change that other countries would deem impossible – one example is seen in our elected leader. We have the freedom to vote without fear of persecution, the freedom to practice any religion, speak our own languages, wear clothes and listen to whatever music we like. Some of these things are taken for granted but in many other places, are reasons people sacrifice their lives in order to come onto this great nations soil.

Today is not just a holiday, its a day to reflect and be thankful for being in the land of the free.

I am putting up some video of Fireworks. The first one is from Chicago where I got to see the celebrations one day early (July 3rd, 2009). Lucky enough, another spectator posted a great video. The second one is from New York City from 2008. For those that cannot see some live fireworks, hopefully these will fill that void.

Happy 4th of July!
