With the way the economy is at present, and jobs being cut from almost all sectors, its getting harder to get ahead of the game when trying to network and find an edge. Everyone tries to polish their resume, update their skills, even get a nice suit, but one mistake I see many times when I talk to clients is either a lack of business card, or a really dated one.

Certain business cards might work depending on your niche. If you are working with a traditional big business client, then yes basic is great, heck its still great if your even just starting off. But when it comes down to trying to make connections in a young, dynamic crowd, its important that your business card stick out, and make that impression that will carry with the prospect and perhaps a potential business relationship.

Here are a few cool sites with some amazing business cards:

2. 51 Creative Business Card

Now these are some amazing designs, personally, my card is nothing close to it, but one thing I can say is that I have a business card which is one of the most fundamental things to carry with you. Even if you don’t have a website, or business address, you can use the card to present your cell phone number, twitter ID, or e-mail all on one small (and neat) card.

Today I was cleaning out my wallet and found a card I got from a person I was talking with while at the Miami International Airport this past winter. The guy was coming from India on his way to California, while I was coming in from the Caribbean and heading to Toronto. Just a chance meeting and he gave me his card which listed all his info and a Skype ID to make it easier to contact him from all over the world.

You can be a student with a small side business, or just a person who is always out there networking. A business card is a cheap and effective form of advertising.

If anyone is wondering where to get some cheap, but good business cards, try Vista Print. I used them when I got my first batch and was impressed and so were my friends with whom I normally test any new designs and they were also amazed. 25% to 75% Off All Products — Upload Your Design at VistaPrint.com!

There are other online shops that will also make cards for you, from my experiences, its cheaper to upload and make the cards online compared to local shops, especially for a small batch. My first batch was 250 cards just to test the quality.

Absorb those designs and create something that is geared towards your business. Hopefully they motivate you to consider a new way to make a lasting impression!

Happy Investing!
