Happy 2009 Everyone!

As many of you already know, I’m all about education, expanding the mind in order to succeed and to do this, one must read. As 2009 begins, I know many of use resolve to do better in life. For some, the motivation can be found easily within, for others, like myself, we need books at times to show us that nothing is impossible.

The first book is perfect to read and its called:The Dream: How I Learned the Risks and Rewards of Entrepreneurship and Made Millions. A few weeks back I picked this book up after hearing about Gurbaksh Chahal and his rise to success at a young age. He went from a simple immigrant life coming from the same place in India my parents came from and manage to become worth over 300 million by the age of 26.

This book outlines the struggles and final rewards from his ideas. Its not just for people that are in business, but I found the book to be a generally motivating text that was easy to read. Gurbaksh has been on a Fox reality show, Ophrah and many other shows lately and has got a strong buzz behind him. Reading this book I can truly see why.

Here is a link I grabbed of Amazon to help find it:

The second book that comes highly recommended to me and something that I ordered and await to read is: The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life. This book is about the famous man and his path to success. I know many people that invest or start a business strive to be like him, but this book takes a look at the problems that he encountered and how he overcame those and continued to prosper. Warren Buffett has always been a humble person and its nice to look forward on reading this book. A few of my friends have insisted its a must read.

This third book is a must read for any investor:The Little Book of Bull Moves in Bear Markets: How to Keep Your Portfolio Up When the Market is Down (Little Books. Big Profits). The title is fitting with my site and the book does not lie. For me this was an excellent and informational read and one that I have highly recommended to my friends when they invest. I found this book to have some solid ideas and tips that can and strength to your portfolio.

Finally, the last book I want to recommend for 2009 is: Freakonomics [Revised and Expanded]: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything. Amazingly, I bought this book based on the cover and never really thought it would be as good of a book as it was. This book is well written and talked about various aspects of our economic society. The book is a good general read that has some thought provoking ideas which made me interested in certain points. Its an easy book to read.

So there you have it, for 2009 a few selection of books that might catch some of you to read. If not these ones, I”m sure others can be recommended or found online. I know books don’t have the answers we search for, but they can provide us with new ways to think, new fuel to motivate and another path to succeed from.

Happy Investing!
