Thursday Flat, I Was CORRECT On NVDA shares!
filed in My Investments on Aug.06, 2009
For another day, Thursday ended up slightly in the red but for many, this was not a major cause for concern. The reason the markets ended lower today was in preparation to jobless numbers which were not bad and indicated a stabilization in the economic crisis. This should cause for a rally Friday on the markets. Before I toss up the market summary video, it should be noted that Nvidia (NVDA) had better than expected results. Am I happy? Yes. Why? Well yesterday I full mentioned the stock was worth watching and if you bought before the close on Thursday you are richer than you were when you woke up!
Thursday I watched my holdings and was tempted to drop my (VVTV) shares. It surpassed $4/share before pulling back. I’m going to see what the coming week produces. A small part of me wants to hold until $10/share but the odds of that price are SLIM!
I did put my money where my mouth was and got into (NVDA) towards the end of the day on a limit price of $13.15 for 200 shares. I kept my eye on the stock after the bell today and watched and waited for the expected surge. Since I was looking for a short term gain, I dumped on the spike and got sold at $14.25. The stock is currently above its 52 week high and has a potential to reach the $15 range on its outlook.
Total gain on (NVDA) = $220
Here is the market summary for Thursday:
Friday:
Economic Indicators:
Aug 7 Hourly Earnings Jul
Aug 7 Nonfarm Payrolls Jul
Aug 7 Unemployment Rate Jul
Aug 7 Average Workweek Jul
News:
Nvidia 2Q loss narrows on cost cuts, shares jump (NVDA)
CBS Second-Quarter Profit Tops Estimates, Ads Tumble.
Blue Nile reports 11.3% decline in quarterly profit.
-With BlueNile priced and moving now, Zales does look appealing for me to start watching more closely.
Friday I will watch Crocks (CROX). I want to kick myself for missing this stock when it was around $1/share and right now its just skyrocketing on the positive news. If I can, I will probably just get a holding of 225 shares for a long-term hold. Its a risky play but I see a potential in this company turnaround. Again, its risky.
Happy Investing!

My intention was to get Crox last month but managed to get side tracked and am kicking myself at the AH price. The solace comes from knowing VauleVis is still making money on my 5K shares. I owe you a gift once a sell.

Looks like CROX was up 25% in after hours trading. Would have been nice to get in before close today.
