Weekend Update/Summary:
filed in My Investments on Jan.10, 2009
So this has been a pretty good week.
I managed to execute some trades and for 2009, I have a perfect record of profit which is awesome. I hope you all are pulling the same results as there are stocks all over the board just ripe for picking.
With Friday no different, I managed to snag a few dollars to add to this weeks coffer.
Bloomberg has a report at the open about how Circuit City, which is about to go under, might end up finding a buyer. Well they didn’t speak too much about the news, but it was enough for me to slap open the laptop and log into my trading account and see what the price was running at.

To my dismay, this was another OTC stock which for me to trade, I had to call my broker personally. Thankfully, I did not have to wait on the line for more than 10 seconds before I was able to place a trade. I got in for 10,000 shares @ $0.22/share which some might think was a bad idea. Reason being, the stock had already gapped up from the previous day by almost 20% and there might be a profit taking. But with the spike up and fall, I felt that as more information might come, I should be able to squeeze a penny or two in profit.
This indeed did happen and again I managed to get out at $0.28/share (which is way off the high but its a profit). Once Wallstreet Journal, Forbes, and other outlets posted their news on the stock, I knew it was my time to exit. The stock did rally up further, and maybe does have steam to go further. But for me, I will take my profits and walk away happy.
Profit for Circuit City (OTC:CCYTQ) = $600
Monday my profits were: $772
Wednesday my profits were:$599.50
Thursday my profits were: $300
Friday my profits were: $600
Total income this week: $2271.50!! Cha Ching!!
Another stock that I’m holding, Nortel (NT) launched up 35% today on news that its going to sell a piece of its company. I have been talking about this stock again and again and did sell a position of my stock a few days back. I know if I held I could have made a bigger profit. I will hold the remainder a long as I can. There is speculation by some that the stock has it to get to $1/share. Will it? I personally don’t know as that is more than a 100% gain. Lets see. This could be a fun stock to but more into with some play money but I would not bet the farm on this stock.
Next week is another week to make another dollar!
Happy Investing!
