Why giving up is never an option…
filed in Odds and Ends on Feb.14, 2009
I was catching up on some news which normally I’m up to date on. But with more emphasis on getting my medical board exams cleared soon, I have had to shift some things in my life…
One story I read today: (link) really got me motivated.
How many times do we find ourselves between a rock and a hard place? how many times do we fail again and again on a task that really needs be accomplished? I’m sure everyone can relate. At this juncture of failed attempts, people tend to divide into two groups: those that continue to try and those that give up. Which one are you?

Be it related to your love life, a facet of your career or education, no matter how hard times get and how hard life is, look in the mirror and tell yourself that it WILL HAPPEN. I have failed at so many things and people think I am crazy when I smile. Its like this for me because I know from past struggles that I will only get stronger and only enjoy that victory more once I succeed.
So many times I hear of friends that fail their medical boards and give up. Giving up will always make you wonder what could have happened if you gave it one last shot…is that what you want to wonder about the rest of your life? I don’t and I know you would not want to either.
Nobody reading this should ever give up on a dream, a goal, or a plan. The hardest things that I have had to aim for in my life have been strenuous but amazing feats that show I have it in me…and so do you!
Remember this quote:
It is possible to fail in many ways…while to succeed is possible only in one way.

words to live by!
so many times I have screwed up but from each mistake was a lesson to better fight the battle and now I sit back and laugh at my income, my lifestyle and how its made me…you are right on the point that if I had given up, I would always think about the “what if”.

could have said this any better. Its been a long journey for my family and myself through some ups and downs but in the end we are financially stable and exceeding goals that we once thought would be impossible to touch. Never lose sight of the prize!

This was something I needed to read today after my week. You are right that in life things will get hard and the strong will break out and survive. Great post and excellent advice. Thank you so much Aman.
